So. Halloween is coming up, and it’s a pretty good excuse to get a few friends together for a game night. Maybe your group already plays Magic and has some appropriately spooky decks. Maybe you’d rather spend the evening drawing badly and trying to guess what everyone else drew. There are plenty of ways to…
This post contains paid links to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.(Also, you’re under no obligation to buy anything.) So, as a magic player myself, my group and I talk a lot about getting more people into Magic and inviting them to join us. We get excited about a new set,…
So, if you’re in the discord, you might have already heard about the fact that I’m rolling out a couple of updates to the site. It’s nothing major yet, but I hit a few technical snags that required me to restructure some of the theming on the pages. For those of you who are less…
Hey all! 👋 So, apologies if I haven’t been as vocal as I would like to be. Truthfully, being the center of attention is somewhat draining for me, so even when I have new videos/topics to post about, it’s often a little hard for me to get over the anxiety of it all (I am…
So, I’m a little late to the party, but I wanted to at least talk about the latest set in Magic—just in case you somehow haven’t heard about it yet. The set is Secrets of Strixhaven, and it’s a return to the plane of Arcavios—a magic university run by elder dragons, split into five schools…
It’s prerelease weekend for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Magic: The Gathering… and yeah, that sentence still feels surreal to type. Universes Beyond continues to expand — and at this point, it’s starting to feel like a bit of alphabet soup. IP after IP after IP are releasing on a pretty regular schedule. It’s very…
Hi. 👋 As those of you who have been following the Idle Handz project may have noticed, we started last year with some explosive momentum and really anxious goals. Even just saying that aloud now makes it seem obvious: it wasn’t entirely sustainable for one person. As much as I wanted to keep up with…
So, this week I’m going to write a post that’s a little different than usual. I know it’s Avatar pre-release weekend, and I’m as excited about it as anyone else (I’m actually attending an event in a couple hours), but I wanted to take a moment to share a more personal anecdote that I feel…
The Birth of Idle Handz: A Passion Project Idle Handz emerged from a deep-seated passion for community building through shared interests, particularly within the realm of games like Magic: The Gathering. The founders recognized that there was a growing desire among players and enthusiasts to connect with like-minded individuals who shared similar cultural values and…
Yo! So I just got back from the Edge of Eternities prerelease, and honestly — it was way more fun than I expected. One big takeaway? Spacecrafts. They’re a blast to play with, but they can get tricky if your deck isn’t built around creatures. You really need enough power on the board to…
